In this process document, we will outline the steps to create an AR experience using MediAR. Our goal is to allow users to scan an image and overlay an AR video on the image. Additionally, we will enable the embedding of external links for further interaction.

Inspiration (Problem Statement):

Our objective is to develop an immersive AR experience that seamlessly integrates digital content with the physical world. By leveraging MediAR’s capabilities, we aim to captivate users and provide them with an engaging interactive experience.

Incubation (Why AR?):

Augmented Reality presents a unique opportunity to enhance storytelling and create memorable experiences. With MediAR, we have access to powerful tools that simplify the creation of AR content, making it an ideal platform for our project.

Illumination (Research and Development):

Through research, we’ve identified the potential of AR video overlays to enhance user engagement. We will explore MediAR’s features for image recognition and video embedding to bring our vision to life. Prototyping will involve experimenting with different image targets and refining the user interface for intuitive interaction.

Implementation (Manifesting Your Idea into Reality):

• Image Recognition: Utilize MediAR’s image-tracking technology to recognize the target image when scanned by the app.
• AR Video Overlay: Create or source AR videos that complement the content of the target image. Embed these videos to overlay on the scanned image using MediAR’s video embedding feature.
• External Links: Enable the embedding of external links within the AR experience to provide additional information or resources related to the content. Users can access these links by interacting with specific elements in the AR environment.
• Testing and Feedback: Conduct thorough testing of the AR experience on various devices to ensure functionality and performance. Gather feedback from users to identify any issues or areas for improvement.
• Optimization and Deployment: Optimize the AR experience for performance and compatibility across different devices. Deploy/publish the AR experience using MediAR’s mobile application for both iOS and Android to make it accessible to diverse users.
